Disaster Relief Ministry
Bring Jesus To Those In Need
Disaster Relief ministry can be an excellent opportunity for sharing the Gospel, a message of hope, with those who have been devastated by hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, etc.
The Scriptures teach us to bear one another's burdens.
In the aftermath of the Indonesian Tsunami, and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, my friend Rev. Jerry Davis and his team brought relief supplies and a message of hope to thousands of people, for an extended period of time.

Through their efforts, hundreds of disaster relief workers and residents received Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.Their ministry is called specifically to deal with these types of situations and they do so on a worldwide stage.
But, many things were learned through their efforts, and can be applied to your local area.
When natural disasters occur in your area, become a resource for the community. Set yourself up as a temporary shelter, build a relationship with the local Red Cross, network with other churches to provide relief supplies, etc.
During this time, people who have been affected by the disaster need support. They need someone to pray with and just a shoulder to cry on.
Let the community know that you are there to help.
Hopefully, you will never be in a position where you have to use the resources at your disposal, but preparing to be a help to others will help you to be better prepared yourself.
